I’ve been a daily newspaper reporter for 32 years. I’ve worked at newspapers in Hammond, Ind., Lafayette, Ind., and Peoria before coming to the SJ-R in 1999. I’m a graduate of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and I covered state politics, education and health-care policy in the Capitol bureau of the SJ-R from 1999 to 2003. I’ve covered the health beat full-time for the SJ-R since 2003. I’m married, have three children and live in Springfield.
